Over the course of about 10 classes during their middle school years, Siskiyou School students learn to type without looking at the keyboard, develop proficiency around editing and formatting techniques, and learn how to navigate PowerPoint, Google docs and other programs. They are also introduced to the history of the Internet and research skills. In 7th grade, for the first time, students are occasionally asked to submit assignments/research papers in typed form and use computer programs to present slide shows as part of independent studies.
