The life of the kindergarten revolves around the living arts described as domestic arts (joyful practical work and meaningful daily activities), nurturing arts (self-care, care of others and the environment), social arts (learning and growing together as a class community), and creative arts (painting, drawing, sewing, crafting, story, plays and puppets shows). Joyful work inspires a love of learning and growing, caring for ourselves, others and the environment. Singing as we work and play brings joy to our days.

Circle time, daily activities and story time orient children to practical work, creative arts and the seasons with their content and practice. Circle time supports sensory-motor reading readiness, as well as cultivates literacy skills and understanding of spoken word and songs. Children are learning and growing through movement, song and dance that meet them in a joyous, age-appropriate manner. Stories are shared in 2-3 week cycles, and typically include a puppet show and a play, where the children act out the story for the class. Story time fosters children’s early literacy skills while they learn about the journey of growing and learning. In kindergarten, stories are shared from around the world with themes of a challenge to overcome where there is resolve and harmony, like the hero's journey yet in an age-appropriate manner that holds that the world is good and beautiful, and solutions are always found.
