Our second grade gathers to bring light to the paths of Lithia Park with lanterns and song.

Come join us in our beloved Pine Hall as it turns into a magical shopping oasis for all your holiday needs. We will have over 25 vendors this year that will have items ranging from crystals, felted items, jewelry and more.

The Siskiyou School’s Annual Winter Faire holiday event has been a tradition in the Rogue Valley for over 30 years. At this family-friendly, old-fashioned event, you and your children may dip your own beeswax candle, choose a treat in the Crystal Cookie Room, pick a treasure from the Pocket Person, visit the magical throne room of the Fairy Queen, and more! Many other enchantments, crafts, and activities, along with delicious food and more than 25 gift vendors, will be awaiting your family.

Winter Faire is the biggest community event of the school year. It draws not only alum and old friends, but hundreds of people from all over the valley who don’t necessarily have any affiliation with Waldorf education.

We look forward to celebrating this magnificent day with you.

The Spiral of Light is a festival that is unique in our calendar of the year. There are no presentations by the grades, no speeches by the administration. Instead, we sit in silence in a darkened room, listening for a song sung by a single voice as a candle is lit in the center of a spiral of evergreen boughs, a symbol of life amidst the dead of winter. Then, as quiet music plays, each child in turn takes a candle into the center of that spiral and lights it, then places the candle in an apple along the path. The lights brighten the path for those who come after. Each child walks alone, at his or her own pace, in his or her own way.

Santa Lucia Day is a beloved winter festival celebrated at our school that invites song, stillness, and light into the community. Drawing from traditional Scandinavian customs, this festival serves as a beautiful reminder of how small gestures of kindness and warmth can brighten an entire community.

This special evening brings our grades 1 through 8 students together to share music, verse, and movement, culminating in a joyful community sing! All students in grades 1 through 8 are expected to attend and to come dressed in their best for this celebration.

Thanks to the generous contributions of several community members, we are delighted to hold this year’s assembly at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s Angus Bowmer Theatre, located at 20 E Main St, Ashland, OR 97520.

Middle School Fridays is an electives program designed to give our middle schoolers a chance to explore subjects outside the core curriculum and discover new interests and talents. Every 4-5 weeks each spring semester, is 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are presented with a list of 6-8 electives to choose from. Students rank their choices and within a day or two are informed of which class they will take part in. Sample electives include cooking, yoga, 3-D printing, dance, improv, coding, writing, clay, chess, school newspaper, and more.

Grandparents and friends are invited to spend a morning sharing in their grandchild’s school life. They take part in their main lesson, attend an all-school assembly, and tour specialty classes to experience the breadth of the curriculum.

The Medieval Games is a special Spring tournament celebrating the culmination of the 6th grade medieval history and skills curriculum. This event is closed to spectators.

All are invited to our special May Day celebration where grades 1-8 head out to Clay Street Park to the Maypole, where they take turns dancing around the pole accompanied by singing and instrumental music provided by the other students, teachers, and parents. The morning ends with a huge round of the Virginia Reel in which all parents and visitors are invited to join.
