Magdalen Hess, Receptionist

Magdalen moved to Ashland in December 2021 when the Sprinter van she and her daughters were traveling around the country in, broke down.  

Waldorf education initially came to her awareness many years ago because of the avid interest of a dear friend. The emphasis on the value of beauty as native to the wholeness and integrity of each individual resonates greatly with her, as well as the reverence held for each child’s unique imagination and light.

Magdalen is delighted to join The Siskiyou School as the Front Office Receptionist for the 2026/27 school year. She has two daughters, one already a graduate of the Siskiyou School and one a rising 5th grader.

Magdalen loves traveling (near and far), long walks, swimming, singing, cultural textiles and handcrafts, and live performance of all kinds. She has a soft spot in her heart for Egypt (where she was born) and Palestine/Israel where she spent much of her childhood.
