Trine Ostergaard, Director of Development

Trine joined the administrative team in the summer of 2019. She comes to the Siskiyou School with 20 years of experience in mission and vision-driven work. She has traveled and worked in more than 40 countries, with a career spanning years of development work in Africa and Asia for the World Bank to exciting experiences as an entrepreneur. In 2004 she launched a yoga business in Copenhagen that in a short time was rated in the top 25 yoga studios in the world by Travel and Leisure. Most recently, she helped set up and run a small non-profit at the Willow-Witt Ranch. Since 2018 she has been Secretary of the Ashland Food Coop Board, combining her passion for food and community.

Trine is a well-rounded idealist with a real-world grounded approach. She is eager to put her mission-driven heart and start-up mind in service of the Siskiyou School. With husband Eben, daughter Zoe (1st) and black lab Luna, Trine happily calls Ashland home. When she is not at school (a place she truly loves), you can find her in the kitchen (all the time) or the garden (because it is magical) and almost always knitting something (it’s meditation). Trine grew up in Denmark and has a slight accent. She loves rain, candle lights and pickled herring. Lastly, she smiles a lot and enjoys a good laugh.
