Parent Enrichment

Each year the school organizes a parent enrichment series which includes talks, lectures, workshops, or study groups designed to offer parents insights into Waldorf education and child development. These are led either by our Faculty or outside specialists. Reminders are posted in the Tuesday Notice.

October 16th

Supporting Children to Develop Resiliency, Courage, & Service in Uncertain Times Parent Evening with author, Jack Petrash 6:30 – 8:00 pm

We are witnessing a generation with wavering confidence in the world and uncertainty about their place in it. How can we as parents, caregivers, and teachers best help children to develop confidence, competence, and courage as they find connectedness with others, with nature, and with their own humanity?

Join us for an evening with Jack Petrash as he shares how we, as the adults, can hold our young people with a clear perspective and knowledge of how to support the health of the mind/body/soul. Jack will help us explore how we can help our children have their uniqueness affirmed as they realize their gifts and learn to embrace the importance of contributing to the greater good by fulfilling their mission in life.

Jack Petrash is a Waldorf teacher, author, and founder/director of the Nova Institute. Jack has written extensively on issues pertaining to innovative classroom instruction and has served on the editorial board of the journal Encounter, and is the author of Understanding Waldorf Education: Teaching from the Inside Out. His parenting pieces have appeared in the Washington Post and on National Public Radio.
