Katherine is in her third year serving as a Class Assistant at the Siskiyou School. She was born and raised in Minneapolis and St. Paul with three sisters and a close-knit family of many cousins, aunts, and uncles. A fire was kindled early on in Katherine’s life for enriching the lives and imaginations of children and adults through storytelling, music and meeting the world of nature. This enthusiasm has formed a theme throughout her life, connecting a diverse array of work and apprenticeship experiences. After studying sculpture at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, Katherine embarked on a traveler’s journey of discovery. She worked as an intern on

organic farms, as an artist’s assistant in Yelapa, Mexico, and helped to organize many music festivals and skill-sharing workshops. Katherine fell in love with the Klamath/Siskiyou bioregion in 2012 and moved to Ashland in 2014. She enjoys exploring mountains and rivers, sewing, swimming, gardening, and playing music with her family and friends. Catherine and her partner, Cody, have a two-year-old son, Tamaron.
