Enrollment

Tuition/Availability in Classes/Tuition Assistance/Admissions Process.

Tuition

Tuition for Grades 1-8 is $5350 for the 07-08 year, the same as it was for 2006-2007. This includes a $250 enrollment fee, paid upon enrollment. Monthly payment on the balance of $5,100 comes to $425 per month.

Availability of Space in Classes

For the 2007-2008 academic year, classes 3, 4, and 5 are at capacity, with waiting lists as well. We do not foresee any places opening up in those three grades for the school year. We are not adding names to the waiting list at this time. Please check the website again in February 08 for availability for those classes for the 2008-2009 school year.
We do have room in Classes 1, 2, 6, & 7. If interested, call (541) 482-8223 to schedule an appointment with the Administrator.

Tuition Asstance

Tuition assistance awards are made in the spring prior to the start of the upcoming school year. The size of the tuition assistance fund for a given school year is set by the Board based on the overall budget picture. The community commits to raising that amount in order to support the families requesting aid. For the 2007-2008 year, the Board set the amount at $50,000. That amount was allocated this spring among the families who filed applications for assistance. No family received more than $1500. The amount a family will/can receive is variable, a function of how many families request aid in a given year and the "size of the pot". The maximum ever allotted is 50% of the tuition. There is no more assistance available for the 2007-2008 year.

Admissions Process

The process for admission includes several steps. It begins with a tour of the school and conversation with Administrator. Then come the classroom visit by the child and a conversation between the parents and the class teacher. Records from the child's previous school are requested as well as a completed application. The decision to admit is the class teacher's based on perceived "fit" for the child and the class as a whole. Parents are notified by letter of the decision.
